We're going underground to do the Dig Dug Dance

Hello Gamers!

Today's Game of the Day is the original Dig Dug arcade released by Namco in 1982. The Dig Dug legacy has spanned many years and has been ported many times and has a lot of sequels and spin-offs that are even seen as of today.

Dig Dug has to be one of the great classic and fun arcade games today that has been a favorite for anyone in the video game community. When I first played this game I instantly loved it with the way I could go around blowing enemies up and racking up the points. This game has no goal and is your basic old-school game where you rack up the high score. So I give this score 10 Digs of 10 Dugs.

I ain’t afraid of no Ghosts

Hello Gamers!

Today"s Game of the Day is The Real Ghostbusters released by Data East in Arcades in 1987. In this game you control three ghostbusters from a top-down view as you bust ghosts collecting diffrent powerups that act as add-ons to you proton pack. The game consisted of 10 leavels and as the game went on it got harder and harder.

This has to be one of my favoirte arcade games and is probley the best retro Ghostbusters game out there and one of the best arcade mulitypalyer games. Even though I played this game a couble of times I higley recommend it to gamers out there who find to play it right away if they enjoy Ghostbusters and top-down view game play. This is probley one of my shortest game reviews because I have not played this game in a long time but I give this game 6 slimers out of 10

The End of Dr. Wily?!?!

Hello Gamers!

Today's Game of the Day is Mega Man 3 which was released for the NES in November of 1990. In this third part of the series you control Mega Man against 8 bosses and in the end you are up against Dr. Wily once again.

There is much debate over which Mega Man on the NES is better Mega Man 2 or Mega Man 3. In my personal opinion it has to be Mega Man 3 because not only does it have memorable bosses like Snake and Shadow Man but it introduces Mega Man's dog Rush for the first time who helps Mega Man in his adventures. Also a little know fact that is not know by all but this is also the Mega Man game that introduces Mega Man's slide ability which has to be the feature that I value most of Mega Man games because it has helped gotten me out of many sticky situations in the past. I give this game 7 Mega Busters out of 10

The Adventures of Prince Ali Ababwa

Hello Gamers!

Today's Game of the Day is Aladdin for the SNES which was released on November 21st in 1993. Many gamers know that there is also an Aladdin game for the Sega Genesis that game out on November 11th 1993 is very different from the SNES game and is has been debated that it is the better version of the two. For this review however I will review the one that I played and loved which is the SNES version.

In this great game players got to control Aladdin as you play though the plot of the movie killing bad guys by jumping on their heads or stunning them by throwing apples. One of my favorite parts of the game was riding around on the Magic Carpet in some levels. The most famous scene in the movie was Aladdin's carpet ride with Jasmine which was a playable level in the game which was a bonus level were the player could rack up in points. There is nothing that I don't like about this game so it get's a score of 10 Apples out of 10.

Super Sci-Fi Action

Hello Gamers!

Today's Game of the Day is Super Star Wars for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System released June 1st 1992. In this game players got to control Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca though intense locations that are taken from the 1977 movie.

Even though this was the first SNES Star Wars game this was the last one I bought to own for my personal use. When I first played though this game it soon became my favorite over the rest. Like its sequel you get to control Luke Skywalker with a blaster and a lightsaber but much later in the game. Every character has their own special super move that is different from the others in this game, Luke with his lightsaber, Han with his bomb throwing, and Chewbacca with his sweet spin move of death. Unlike the two sequels this game had no password system which made this game very hard and the only way you could beat the game was by play though. The best part of the game is the Death Star battle at the end. Even though not one of the best versions of the Death Star battle it was great to see it in 16- bit glory on the SNES. With this game's difficulty and it being a Star Wars game I give this game 9 Lightsabers of 10.

Joe Cool

Today's game of the day is Snoopy's Silly Sports Spectacular! This was released for the NES in March 1990. In the game you or another player compete in six events which include a sack race, boot throwing, a pogo race, a fight against another player to knock into the water, balancing a tower of pizza, and finally pole vaulting over a river.

From what I remember playing this game as a kid the games took place in Italy and was basically a mock of the Olympics. Also I remember that the other player played as Spike who is Snoopy's brother. The games are very hard, playing against a computer with the boot throwing competition being the hardest. The second hardest would have to be the game involving keeping balance with pizzas. Even though this game was hard it still was very fun but not fun enough to make me keep playing after playing the hard challenges. I give this game 4  Woodstalks out of 10.

Destiny waits in the jungle

Hello Gamers!

Today's Game of the Day is Super C realsed on the NES in 1990. This title by Konami is the sequel to Contra realsed eairler on the NES. Just Like Contra, Super C is full of sidescrolling action with two player co-op that has you useing many diffrent power-ups to your desposele.

In genreal this is a great a challeging game and is even greater when playing with a friend. Like most Contra games of the time this game is very challangeing and fun at the same time. The powersups in this game include the spread shot, the flame thrower, and the machine gun (Sadley the laser too). The famous Konami code however is now in this game making getting 30 lives very diffuclt because you have to sue a diffrent code to achive it. With the diffuclty and the name of Contra I give this game a 9 Spreadshots out of 10.

No other place like it!

Today's Game of the day is another classic Disney game released on the NES. Adventures in the Magic Kingdom released on the NES in 1992. Adventures in Magic Kingdom involved you as the hero trying to collect 6 silver keys located on several Disney rides so the Disney Parade could begin.

Playing this game is loads of fun because in order to collect the six keys you have to go on various Disney rides that are located in the Magical Kingdom such as the Hunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and The Pirates of The Caribbean Ride. I love this game to death as I was growing up as a kid because of the sheer awesomeness of going to the different rides and the hard difficulty of the game. The game has three modes of game play sidescrolling, top-down racing, and for Space Mountain piloting a space ship though an asteroid field in first-person view. The final way to get the key is though a series of Trivia Questions that are about the Disney theme park. Growing up a kid I loved Disney and I loved playing this game, the Hunted Mansion level scared me back then and still gives me the chills when I re-play it today. In no doubt I give this game 10  Mickey ears out of 10.

Under The Sea

Hello Gamers!

Today's Video Game of the Day is one my favorite games when I growing up playing my old NES. The Little Mermaid released on the NES on July 5, 1991 had you controlling the mermaid Ariel as you travel though 6 stages fighting against the evils of Ursula. This game was a great sidescrolling game that took place completely underwater which was a unique playing experience for all who played it.

Now I did not own the game myself my girl neighbors next door had the game and every time we would go over there house we would play the very sweet game based on a classic Disney movie. Now Disney games back on the old NES were instant gold and were really fun to play and many selections to choose from. This game however I consider a gem because it is probably one of the games on the NES that does not get easily recognized. However, I find this game really fun and reminds me of the good times I has with the NES system and the adventure under the sea. I give this game 9 seashells of 10

8-bit Star Wars

Hello Gamers!

Today's game of the day is the Star Wars video game released in July 1983 originally for Arcade's and then ported to the Atari 2600 the same year and was an extra on Star Wars Rouge Squadron III on the Nintendo Gamecube.

What is it about this game that I love so much? It's probably the first Star Wars game to put you in the cockpit of an X-Wing and help the rebels blow up the Death Star just like in the movie. Innovative for it's time the game included sound clips from the movie including voice clips from the movie. Even though they sounded robotic hearing the voices just added the fantasy that you were actually flying in space like in the movie. Even though it a great experience I have to say the graphics are a little too blocky for me and make the game too much like a experience I should be experiencing while watching the movie Tron. In general even though I love how retro of the game I consider to earn  8 Tie Fighters of 10.

Link he come to town to save the princess Zelda!

Hello readers!!!

Today's game of the day is the original Legend of Zelda game released on August 22, 1987 in the U.S.

When this game first came out I never got a chance to play it because we did not have it when we had my NES instead my first Zelda game was on the SNES . The first time that I played this game was when Nintendo re-released the Zelda games a rare Gamecube compilation. When I first played though it was very different from my past Zelda experiences and the game was very challenging compared to all of outer games in the series. For example when you die on the world map you start from the starting point of the game every time! I found this annoying as I had to tread myself to the dungeon that I wanted to go to every time!!! Another thing that annoyed me was how arrows in the game cost rupees.... so I had to keep check of my rupees in order to use my arrows on enemies.

In general I enjoyed the game but the difficulty compared to recent games has been toned down. If Zelda games were as difficult as they were as the first game they would be a little more entertained but are still entertaining anyways. So all in all I give this game a 7  Triforces out of 10

The first video game I ever played.

My first game review will be about the first videogame I ever played in my life which is Super Mario Bros. 3
for the Nintendo Entertainment System that came out in February 12, 1990. A lot of people say that this not the only best Mario game ever but also the best game on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Well I think it's the best NES game it's not the best Mario game. You will find out later what I think is the best Mario game but that's for another day.

In the game you have to fight your way through 8 worlds in order to save Princess Toadstool (No way am I calling her peach in my blog) You will be controlling Mario or Luigi if you are playing two player mode and when you reach the end of the game you will fight the evil King Koopa. Overall with various powerups and minigames to gain extra lives the game is very enjoyable for an oldschool sidescrolling adventure so I give it a rating of 10 Super Stars out of 10
